Tagua Nuts

Fondly nick-named “vegetable ivory”, and harvested from Ecuador, these non-eatable, hard nuts were originally used in the production of buttons before plastics made it on the scene. James Lightle carves these little nuts, ranging from 2-3 inches in diameter using a dremel because they are so hard. The dust it produces is much like sugar.
