Oh Canada!

Phenomenology is the study of structures of consciousness as experienced from the first-person point of view. Using a phenomenological response to the Freedom movements in Canada during 2022, I chose a sample of images that provoked a personal emotional response to events that brought people together. I recreated these images in oil. Rendered in my usual painterly style, the compositions were primarily chosen for their themes of unity and hope.
